I’ve finally decided to reject the safe and comfortable monthly pay check, why? I would be torn between giving my time, attention and energy to my students versus investing my time and energy in something new. Yes, I could have a side hustle but I know myself and my side hustle would come so low down my list of priorities, it would be a waste; a lost opportunity which I would bitterly regret.
Besides, I love change, I get bored quickly plus I believe that once you start being critical of how things are being managed then it’s time to invest in something that you can manage yourself; I want to be able to manage change that affects me and have more input.
My new ventures may not work out as planned but I am looking forward to enjoying the journey; discovering opportunities; meeting new people; carving out new paths. I don’t need to be a millionaire, I just want to pay my bills; be more productive; find new skills; talents and enjoy applying them.
Anyway, I will always be able to teach via an agency if I am short of money. I really do not want to fearful of change and starting something new, especially when I still have so much drive, energy, passion and an open mind. So now is the time to be bold, create something new and work through challenges, I don’t want to get stuck in that rut of waiting for my teacher’s pension.
I have to start exploring right now, I don't want to be complaining 10yrs down the line about lost opportunities, which is why I'm taking the plunge.
